• (từ thường): Từ tiếng Anh trung đại skyt, skytte, skytt < tiếng Bắc Âu cổ skítr (“phân”) < tiếng German nguyên thuỷ *skītaz, *skitiz. Cùng gốc với tiếng Anh cổ sċite (“phân”). Từ sinh đôi với shit and shite.
